Lent is a 40-day period (not including Sundays) between Ash Wednesday (February 14) and Easter Sunday (April 1). It has historically been a time for self-denial, reflection, fasting, prayer and study as a way to identify with Christ through His earthly ministry and prepare to observe and celebrate the suffering, death, and resurrection of Holy Week. The 40 days are meant to mirror the fasting and wilderness temptation of Jesus before He started His public ministry. Each Sunday of Lent does not fall into the fast and is meant to be a "mini-Easter" of feasting to prepare our hearts for joy.
We will be gathering on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:00 PM to worship God amnd discuss how and why we observe this season. We hope you'll join us!
