The Oaks is led by a plurality of elders who are responsible for pastoring, teaching, leading and providing oversight of the church. Elders are qualified men according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 who are called by God to serve as pastors within The Oaks. They love Jesus and the people of this church deeply and are committed to Biblically faithful and Christ honoring leadership.
Pastor Matt serves as the lead pastor of The Oaks. Matt was born and raised in Middletown and returned back home after attending college in Maine. He lives in Middletown with his wife Melissa and their daughter Ruby.
Pastor Eric serves as a shepherding pastor of The Oaks. Eric came to Middletown after serving as an associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Boliver, Ohio. He lives in Middletown with his wife Amber and their children Summer and Seth.
Pastor Brandon and his family have been coming to the Oaks for 5 years now. He and his wife Caitlin and their two daughters Sophie Jo and Delaney live in Oakwood Ohio. Brandon works as an airline pilot and has been an elder at the Oaks since the summer of 2015.
Pastor Clay serves as a lay pastor at The Oaks. Clay was born and raised in Cincinnati and moved to Middletown to help plant The Oaks. He lives in Middletown with his wife, Audrey, and their three sons, William, Charles and Henry.
Pastor Dan serves as a shepherding pastor of The Oaks. Dan grew up in the Dayton area and graduated from Wright State University. He works for Lexis Nexis and lives in Middletown with his wife Brittany, and their son Ian.
Deacons are leaders within our church body that serve as the "hands and feet" of The Oaks. They are men and women who meet the qualifications of a deacon specified in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. Our deacons serve in many areas within The Oaks, leading ministry teams that seek to meet needs both inside and outside the church. Deacons set the pace for service by devoting much of their time and energy to serve faithfully and selflessly. After being asked and prayerfully accepting, a deacon candidate will enter a training process with their direct ministry leader.
The deacon process involves learning and being assessed in an understanding of the gospel, an understanding of the qualifications and role of the deacon in the local church, and their unique gifts and calling in ministry. If you would like to enter into this process, there is a more detailed "road map" that we'd love to share with you. Contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will schedule a time for you to meet with a pastor.
